The Fort Wayne Philharmonic will take you on a vibrant journey as they explore the sounds of music from South America and Spain with an array of Latin-infused masterpieces during Tango and Rhythm Dances.

Presented at Purdue University Fort Wayne’s Auer Performance Hall on Saturday, Nov. 9, conductor Andrew Constantine will guide the orchestra through Ginastera’s Estancia: Four Dances, Op. 8a, a rhythmic exploration of Argentine folk influences before master bandoneon player, JP Jofre, takes the stage to join forces with Philharmonic concertmaster Violetta Todorova for Double Concerto No. 2 for Violin and Bandoneon 22.

The unique fusion of classical and tango traditions continues with Piazzolla’s Aconcagua: Concerto for Bandoneon. The evening will conclude with de Falla’s El sombrero de tres picos (The Three-Cornered Hat): Suite No. 2, bringing the spirit and flair of Spanish folklore to life.
