Embassy Theatre gets into Halloween spirit
Greg and Dana Newkirk of Travel Channel’s Kindred Spirits and Amazon Prime’s Hellier are two of the world’s only full-time paranormal investigators.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, at Embassy Theatre, they will give a presentation on the history, folklore, and true-life accounts of encounters with objects that seem to possess a life of their own during Haunted Objects Live!
Learn the untold truth about famous cursed objects like the Crying Boy Painting, discover why the Dybbuk Box is scarier than the demon it’s rumored to imprison, and tag along as Greg and Dana reveal how they broke the curse of the Catskills Crone.
Tickets are available at fwembassytheatre.org or by stopping by the Embassy box office.
Library reaches goal for Parton literacy project
The Allen County Public Library recently announced they had reached their $100,000 fundraising goal for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The program is “dedicated to fostering early childhood literacy by providing free, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age 5.”
With the funding, the library has checked off one the goals it set in its 2024-28 Strategic Plan.
“With these funds, the library will be able to launch the Imagination Library program in the coming months, ensuring that children will begin receiving books in their homes even sooner than we’d hoped,” said Susan P. Baier, the library’s executive director.
