Hometown hero Addison Agen has teamed up with Nashville, Tennessee, singer-songwriter Skye Peterson for a new indie-folk project, Fielder.
The two met at Peterson’s mom’s 50th birthday party and have been living life together since.
They both grew up listening to Patty Griffin and share a love for The Weepies, Phoebe Bridgers, Noah Gunderson, and Kacey Musgraves. So, it will be exciting to see how that transpires into their music.
They’ve already written almost 20 songs and hope to start recording a full-length album soon.
That’s where you come into play.
Fielder recently started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds in hopes that their music sees the light of day. Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing campaign, so if they meet their financial goal, they get the money. If not, they don’t get anything, and it’s returned to you.
Pretty risky, but can be worth it in the end. As of press time, they were at $9,607, but they have a way to go to reach their $30,000 goal by the end of the month.

Split Parasite plan EP release show
The alternative rock band Split Parasite have finished work on their third EP, Web.
The latest effort from the duo of guitarist/vocalist Sam Baker and drummer/vocalist Aaron Bushong was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Caleb Lewis at Champion O.I. Recording in Marion.
Fans have already gotten a taste of this masterpiece with the single “Eon” being released on streaming platforms.
To celebrate the EP, the band will have a release show at O’Sullivans 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, alongside We Love You and New League Record.
They are hoping to have vinyl and cassettes at the show, but you can always check it out on your favorite streaming site until then.
Phoenix Fest rises to the occasion
A number of local acts will join forces on Saturday, Dec. 14, for Phoenix Fest in Stan’s Room at Piere’s.
This all-ages show will feature performances by Creepy Neighbors, Pensionrs, Squirrel Cage, The Lurking Corpses, Deep Coiler, The Speed Knobs, and Snakehandler Church.
With that lineup, it may very well be the show of the year.
A couple of these acts have not performed for quite some time: At least 10 years for Deep Coiler and five years for Creepy Neighbors.

Supernovas burst onto the scene

The band comprised of Purdue University Fort Wayne School of Music graduates and Sweetwater employees includes guitarist Andy Mauch, vocalist Karlea Boleyn, keyboardist Ben Francis, drummer Kurtis Ley, and bassist Tony Hoch.
This professionally trained cover band perform music from a wide array of artists, from Stevie Wonder and Journey to The Killers and Alicia Keys.
Just as I get you excited, I will tell you The Supernovas have no more events scheduled for the year, but will be reloading in 2025.
Salem’s Childe chart a hit
A couple months ago, I filled you in on the Fort Wayne/Kokomo band Salem’s Childe who are hitting the road this month in support of their new album, Unbound, with Pissing Razors.
Since then, their song “Through Fire” is being played across the country on FM rock stations, including 98.9 FM, and is making a mark on the Billboard mainstream rock chart.
In addition, they have announced a January/February tour with the British heavy metal band Venom Inc. that will see them gigging across the U.S. The tour kicks off Jan. 8 in Santa Anna, California, and wraps up Feb. 16 in San Diego.
The closest dates we have are The King of Clubs in Columbus, Ohio, on Jan. 18, No Class in Cleveland on Jan. 19, and WC Social Club in Chicago on Jan. 20.
Seventh Cloud hit the road
Speaking of tours, Seventh Cloud will be embarking on a one that kicks off at the Black Circle in Indianapolis on Nov. 9.
From there, they travel to Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, and more before wrapping up in Nov. 24 in South Bend. Some of the dates will include support by our very own Necromoon and Sleep Keeper.
In addition, if you haven’t checked out their latest effort, Heirloom/Locket, do so as you will surely find yourself brandishing a wide smile that stretches from ear to ear.
Shadow within step into the light
A band to keep an eye out for is The Shadow Within.
They have been around since 2022 but have gone through personnel changes. Vocalist Adam Purk, guitarist Craig Brown, bassist Cody Rhodes, rhythm guitarist Ellis Omega, and drummer Brad Anderson have been playing since the beginning of the year.
Together, they perform hits by Godsmack, Alice in Chains, Corrosion of Conformity, Seether, Stone Sour, Sevendust, and more.
