Drummer Mike Portnoy rejoined Dream Theater recently, and the band is currently working on their first album since that reunion. The good news is they’re going to keep active while they wait for the album to come out.
The prog metal masters will hit the road in 2025 for their 40th anniversary tour across North America, visiting Chicago Theatre in Chicago on March 8 and MGM Northfield Park outside Cleveland the following night.
“The excitement we have felt from the fans since the first tour was announced has been overwhelming!” Dream Theater said in a statement. “Now we get to bring the show to our home country and play a bunch of cities that we haven’t been together in for more than a decade.
“We can’t wait to continue this historic celebration of 40 years together with everyone in North America next year. We still have plenty of more exciting Dream Theater news to share in the coming weeks.”
DMB set fall dates
Touring stalwarts and soon-to-be Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Dave Matthews Band will play six shows in the U.S. this fall.
Annual fixtures at the summer amphitheaters, this year’s tour concluded with their traditional Labor Day weekend shows at The Gorge in George, Washington.
The band will take a break from the road until their Rock Hall induction on Oct. 19 and will get back at it with a quick run afterwards that stops at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, Nov. 16.
Brooks & Dunn are not done
The top-selling country music duo of all time, Brooks & Dunn, will go back on the road in 2025 with the Neon Moon Tour.
Founded in 1990, Brooks & Dunn have charted 20 No. 1 singles on the Hot Country Billboard chart and have nine platinum-certified albums to their credit.
There will be plenty of songs to choose from when they make the setlists for their stops at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on April 3 and Allstate Arena in Chicago on April 5.

Wesley Stace gets intimate
Wesley Stace, better known to some as John Wesley Harding, will present many of the songs that endeared him to fans over the years as well as a few new ones when he heads out on tour this fall.
The folk pop singer-songwriter will visit Apothecary in Farmington, Michigan, on Oct. 3, Space in Evanston, Illinois, on Oct. 6, and a house concert in Columbus, Ohio, on Oct. 7.
“Some of these will be unforgettable events, and the others you’ll forget so it won’t matter,” he jokingly said in a statement. “Some of these are glorious reminders of the ‘Tribute to John Wesley Harding’ tour before COVID, but then I was with Robert (Lloyd, his frequent stage companion), which means there were twice as many people onstage and over twice as many strings, since mandolins have eight.
“I am therefore going to have to work over twice as hard for you, and I am happy to do that. In fact, I’m ready.”
