Blue Jacket Academy, a local organization that helps people overcome barriers to employment, will present the eighth annual Second Chances Art Exhibit on Friday, Sept. 6, at Blue Jacket headquarters, 2826 S. Calhoun St.

The fundraising show features local artists paired with Blue Jacket Academy graduates. The artists depicted personal stories of trials and triumphs from the graduates through a variety of artistic mediums, including painting, photography, and sculpture. These works are showcased and available for purchase on the night of the event and afterward. 

This year’s artists are Paul Demaree, Carmen Dillon, Masie Husman, Becky Johnson, Jordan Kurzen, Bonnie Manning, Valerie McBride, Sam Parker, Jake Patten, Brian Robertson, Teresa Stephens, Jeremy Stroup, Theresa Thompson, and Rachel Von Stroup.

Attendees will have the chance to meet the graduates featured in the success stories and learn more about Blue Jacket’s mission. There will also be appetizers by Catablu.
