While the Prohibition Era from 1920-33 was a hard time for some since the sale and consumption of alcohol was illegal, it was a grand period in the automobile industry as the Duesenberg, Cord, and Auburn were all still being manufactured and sold.
Celebrate both eras and the museum’s 50th anniversary at The Bootlegger’s Ball on Saturday, Feb. 10, inside the historic Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum in Auburn.
An evening of dancing, hors d’oeuvres, access to the museum, a cash bar with period-themed cocktails, and a special exhibit by Eckhart Public Library exploring the city’s history during the era awaits all who attend, guaranteeing a memorable night.
“The Bootlegger’s Ball is an exciting and fun way to jump into the new year with a nod to history and a toast to the repeal of Prohibition,” said Brandon J. Anderson, executive director and CEO of the museum.
Tickets are $40 and $75 for couples.
Period-appropriate dress is encouraged but not mandatory. Buy tickets at automobilemuseum.org or at the museum at 1600 W. Wayne St. in Auburn.
