Disturbed have announced the 23-date Take Back Your Life 2024 North American tour. Kicking off Jan. 19 in Illinois, the caravan heads to Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids the following night before visiting Huntington Center in Toledo on Feb. 6.
Still supporting their 2022 album Divisive, the trek will feature support from Falling in Reverse and Plush.
As a side note, Disturbed’s biggest headlining concert ever happened Sept. 2 at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, where the band drew more than 20,000 fans.
Blake Shelton in Detroit
Country star Blake Shelton is headed back to the honky tonk.
The superstar revealed the stops on his Back to the Honky Tonk Tour in 2024 that includes a Feb. 23 stop at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Joining Shelton on the 17-show trek are Dustin Lynch and Emily Ann Roberts.
Lynch recently issued his latest album, Killed the Cowboy, and his current radio single, “Stars Like Confetti,” is burning up country music playlists nationwide.
Roberts appeared as a contestant during Shelton’s time on The Voice and recently released the album Can’t Hide Country.
Machine Head visit Midwest
Bay area thrash legends Machine Head have announced the first leg of their Slaughter the Martour North America tour.
Dates begin in mid-January and include Concord Music Hall in Chicago on Jan. 31, MGM Northfield Park outside Cleveland on Feb. 2, and Saint Andrew’s Hall in Detroit on Feb. 3.
While the band have opted for the solo “An Evening with…” format on recent tours, they have changed pace this time around by inviting fellow metal masters Fear Factory along for the ride along with the soothing sounds of up-and-coming Swedish metalers Orbit Culture and Louisville, Kentucky-based Gates to Hell.
Mulaney sets more dates
Comedian John Mulaney is gearing up to bring his new show out on the road, unveiling new dates throughout November and December.
The tour kicks off on Nov. 2 and stops at the Stranahan Theatre in Toledo on Nov. 11, Palace Theatre in Columbus, Ohio, on Nov. 12, and Rosemont Theatre in Chicago on Dec. 21.
Deep Purple legend on road
Legendary bassist/singer Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple and known to millions as the “Voice of Rock,” has announced he will be performing Deep Purple-only material on his aptly titled Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live 2024 tour.
Hughes will offer fans in our area several chances to see him beginning with a planned visit to Token Lounge in Detroit on Feb. 9 along with a stop at Arcada Theatre near Chicago on Feb. 10, Hobart Art Theatre in Hobart on Feb. 13, and Blue Note in Cincinnati on Valentine’s Day.
Support will be provided by Enuff Z’ Nuff and Bad Marriage.
King Gizzard plan long shows
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have planned a batch of three-hour “marathon” shows for 2024.
The extended concerts will kick off in August and feature a stop at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion on Sept. 1.
In June, they released their heavier-than-expected and phenomenally titled thrash album PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation followed by the October release of The Silver Cord.
