British rock band 10cc will return for their first tour of the United States in more than four decades.
The tour announcement follows 10cc’s Europe leg of their Ultimate Greatest Hits Tour, which they began 2022. This leg of the tour has been dubbed the Ultimate, Ultimate Greatest Hits Tour in the U.S. and will stop at Kent Stage in Kent, Ohio, near Cleveland, on July 30, Arcada Theatre in the Chicago suburb of St. Charles on Aug. 1, Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati on Aug. 4, and The Toby Theater at Newfields in Indianapolis on Aug. 5.
10cc have been regularly reuniting for European tours the last decade, but this new tour marks the art rock group’s first stretch of shows in the United States since 1978.
Full slate at Ohio State Fair
In recent months, we have been giving a rundown of the shows at this year’s Indiana State Fair while ignoring our neighbors to the east who have a nice festival of their own in Columbus, Ohio.
You will have to act fast as the concert lineup for the Ohio State Fair opens with Kidz Bop Live on July 24, followed by country legends Alabama on July 25, alternative rockers Stone Temple Pilots and Soul Asylum on July 26, R&B sensations Boyz II Men on July 27, contemporary Christian star Lauren Daigle on July 29, rap icon Ice Cube on July 30, comedian Gabriel Iglesias on July 31, The Ohio Players and Midnight Star on Aug. 2 and country star Jamey Johnson on Aug. 3.
Post Malone goes country
Post Malone will release his debut country album, F-1 Trillion, on Aug. 16, and he’s announced his tour in support of that album.
The 21-date trek sees the now-countrified musician stop at Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville on Sept. 12 and Blossom music Center outside Cleveland on Oct. 1 for shows that are sure to be memorable.
Anderson .Paak plays Malibu
Anderson .Paak will play his 2016 Grammy-nominated album Malibu in its entirety on his newly announced 2024 North American tour.
The trek includes two stops in our region, Oct. 4 at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago and the following night at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre outside Detroit.
Malibu was the second studio album by the artist and featured the singles “The Season / Carry Me,” “Am I Wrong,” “Room in Here,” and “Come Down.” The album received widespread critical acclaim, placing highly on several music critics’ end-of-year lists.
Julien Baker goes it alone
Singer-songwriter Julien Baker will return to the road as a solo act this fall, touring North America with a series of multi-night plays.
Baker spent much of 2023 touring with boygenius bandmates Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. This time around she will go it alone with a three-night stay at Chicago’s Thalia Hall, Sept. 23-25.
Weir adds symphony dates
Bob Weir & Wolf Bros have announced a run of fall symphony dates performances with The Wolfpack in three U.S. cities, two of which are within driving distance of The Fort.
In November, The Grateful Dead co-founder will reunite with Wolf Bros and The Wolfpack for five shows starting Nov. 13 at Cincinnati Music Hall in Cincinnati with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Next, the ensemble will travel to the Windy City for a two-night engagement at Auditorium Theatre in Chicago with the Chicago Philharmonic, Nov. 17-18.
