Two Contemporary Christian music heavyweights are teaming up to bring you some much needed live music.Steven Curtis Chapman and Mac Powell will visit the Van Del Drive-In Theater in Middle Point, Ohio, on Monday, Oct. 12, for what is sure to be an evening that is full of inspirational songs you probably already know by heart. Chapman, widely recognized as the most rewarded artist in Christian music history, has released more than 25 albums during his career with ten of them achieving Gold or Platinum status. Powell, former singer for Third Day, has had 28 No. 1 Christian hits during his time with that group. The tour is the latest installment of a series of Awakening Events-produced shows and comes as drive-in theaters across the country become concert hotspots. It’s a way for artists to continue to perform for fans while helping to make sure social distancing guidelines are observed during the COVID-19 pandemic. For those who have yet to experience a show at a drive-in, the experience is often described as reminiscent of a festival. Concert-goers  will be spread out on the lawn, in their cars, and alongside their vehicles with a big screen behind the stage showing the video of the live concert. This particular show will be a full concert with production as good as any you could see in a traditional venue, with concert quality sound that will reach the entire area rather than piped through the typical drive-in audio streams to car radios. Middle Point is about 15 miles east of Van Wert, and the drive-in is just off U.S. Highway 30.
