Mike Conley is something of a legend in the Fort Wayne music scene. A professional mediator by day, Conley has been performing in front of music aficionados in and around the Summit City for many years. He will entertain the audience at Lunch on the Square in Freimann Square on June 20.

Conley has performed a variety of music over the years as a solo artist and as a member of The Beef Manhattans, a Rat Pack-era jazz band.

An adaptable player, Conley’s style can change somewhat to accommodate the type of audience that is expected to attend any gig he plays, but it’s generally described as reminiscent of cool ’70s and ’80s tunes that are sure to bring back memories. And while his setlist will include a lot of songs that most already know and love, Conley isn’t afraid to sprinkle in a few originals for good measure, highlighting his talent for songwriting and his talent for creating memorable songs of his own.

Lunch on the Square takes place every Thursday through August from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and features a variety of music artists. Live music is the highlight of the weekly event, but there are also multiple opportunities to enjoy lunch outside as many of the great downtown eateries participate in addition to the plethora of food trucks.

Freimann Square offers some seating and shade as well as a great view of the ever-evolving downtown. It is a free family-friendly event that is open to all ages.
