Touring in support of their sophomore album, Trauma, Detroit-based metalcore band I Prevail bring “The Trauma Tour” to The Clyde on May 23.

First gaining notoriety as the metal band that dared cover Taylor Swift, I Prevail are now forging their own path by branching out in different musical directions by tossing and turning between metal, alternative, hip-hop, and electronic moods without warning, boundaries, or rules, creating an eclectic listening experience in the process.

While this album has been proclaimed by the band as an attempt to “revive rock n’ roll,” the members of I Prevail weren’t sure they themselves would survive to see their sophomore album as vocalist Brian Burkheiser underwent a vocal procedure in 2017 to remove a node, putting the bands future in jeopardy.

But true to the bands moniker, Burkheiser “prevailed” and sounds better than ever, according to fans and critics alike.

I Prevail are known for their energetic live shows and there’s no reason to believe that their visit to The Fort will be any different.

In addition to new classics like “Bow Down” and “Breaking Down,” their setlist is likely to be stacked with other fan favorites including “Stuck in Your Head,” “Chaos,” and “Scars.” Fellow metalcore champions Issues, from Atlanta, Ga., and rapper Justin Stone are slated to open the show.
