Spring might have officially kicked off Monday, but Riverfront Fort Wayne is waiting until Saturday, March 25, to mark the season with their Spring Celebration at Promenade Park.

Although temperatures may stubbornly refuse to reach spring-like highs, you can stop by the Park Foundation Pavilion from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for this free event.

At noon, check out an educational presentation by the Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation Center and the opportunity to see their amazing birds of prey up close. After the presentation, continue the family fun by joining in on a birdwatching tour, making bird seed crafts, and learning the basics of birdwatching. Binoculars and craft materials for kids and adults will be provided.

Finally, don’t leave the park without making a fun paper bag kite craft and completing the scavenger hunt that will have you exploring the fresh sights, smells, and sounds of the beginning of spring.
