Through an acting career that has spanned six decades, George Takei’s most notable role was as Hikaru Sulu in the original Star Trek.
However, his story consists of much more than acting, from the time he spent with his family wrongfully imprisoned in Japanese American internment camps during World War II to becoming one of the country’s leading figures in the fight for social justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and marriage equality.
On Tuesday, April 25, Takei will present “Where No Story Has Gone Before: An Evening with George Takei,” on the campus of Purdue University Fort Wayne, as the finale of the 2022-23 season of the Omnibus Speaker Series.
Tickets are free, but seating is limited.
