City resident Kevan Chandler, author of several books including a memoir of adventures with his friends as they traveled the world, will be the featured speaker at a free fundraising dinner for Agape Mobility Ethiopia.

Diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Chandler’s friends carried him on their backs in a specially designed harnass for three weeks across Europe. Two years later, the same group of friends traveled together in China, visiting orphanages and enjoying their unique sense of accessibility with Chandler in the harness.

At the Dec. 9 fundraiser at Pathway Community Church, Chandler, founder of the nonprofit We Carry Kevan, will discuss his unique life with a disability and address disability issues.

Enjoy authentic Ethiopian food and music during the event and take part in a silent auction benefitting the nonprofit organization that aims to provide a variety of free wheelchairs for children, teens, and adults in Ethiopia.
