Fort Wayne Youtheatre is accepting registration for its Rising Stars summer drama and dance camp. Sessions are June 14-18 and June 21-25 for grades 3-12. Cost is $200 for each camp or $350 for both. Camp is held at the Fort Wayne Dance Collective at 437 E. Berry St. 

Rising Stars Summer Acting Camp is July 12-16 for grades 3-12 and costs $200. This camp will be held at First Presbyterian Theater.

Also, enrollment is open for the Embassy’s summer SCORE! 2021 program. Students who have completed grades 6, 7, or 8, or are SCORE! alumni are eligible to apply. The workshop will take place July 6-25 and is $325 (financial aid is available). 

In its ninth year, this three-week, devised musical theater workshop immerses students in all elements of theater culminating in a public performance on the Embassy stage on July 25. Strings Camps

Directed by Marcy Trentacosti (violin) and Martyna Bleke (cello), City Strings Academy Summer Camp will include classes in string orchestra, chamber music, and violin, viola, and cello ensemble, which include different genres of music. Students must have at least two years of playing experience. 

The week will end with a musical presentation on Friday, July 30, at 2 p.m. 

All classes will take place in the Music Technology Center at the USF Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center downtown.

PFW is also holding Summer String Camp from June 21-25. Regular camp is for students with at least two years of experience. Registration is $289 for the five 5-hour sessions. 

A beginners’ camp, Twinklers, is for children who have been playing violin for 6-12 months. It’s $99 and includes a week of group class instruction. Call (260) 481-6059 for more information.

Paint Your Pet Fundraiser

Humane Fort Wayne (formerly the Allen County SPCA) is holding a Paint Your Pet fundraiser on Saturday, June 7, at 1 and 4:30 p.m. at the brand new Studi07 art studio at 3414 Fairfield Ave. 

Bring a photo of your pet as reference, and they will supply canvas, brushes, and acrylic paints, as well as trained art instructors to assist with advice on mixing colors and other techniques. 

Tickets are $45, and a cash bar with cold drinks provided by Hop River Brewing Company will also be available. Be on the lookout for the special appearance of a few adoptable new friends.
