Plenty for kids to do at local summer camps

Oak Farm Montessori in Avilla has spots open for summer camp. Primary, Elementary, and Middle/High School camps are open and include week-long camps on a variety of topics.

First Presbyterian Church will hold MAD2 Camp (music, art, dance, and drama) the week of June 7-11, from 8:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for students entering kindergarten through fifth grade.
The cost is $35 per child with price breaks for each additional camper. Spots are limited for safety, and registration is on a first come, first served basis.
Three Rivers Music Theatre is accepting registrants for their Summer Intensive happening July 26 to Aug. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, including a public performance Sunday at 6 p.m.
The full week of classes and workshops is open to incoming ninth graders through graduated seniors who are interested in pursuing musical theater at a collegiate or professional level. The classes will be led by working theater professionals and Ball State theater and dance faculty members.
Cost is $300 per student, due on or before July 20.
Celebration of Pride
Also, Three Rivers Music Theatre has announced the cast of True Colors: A Celebration of Pride at the Historic Embassy Theatre.
Hosted by Tilda Whirl and Vera Vanderwoude, the cast includes Kayley Alissa, Caleb Curtis, Amanda Gilbert, Lo Harter, Nefy Hathaway, Daniel Meredith, Madeline Steck, and Jakob Tomlinson.

Vietnam Wall rededicated
The Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum will reopen on Saturday, May 29, with the dedication of the Vietnam Wall, an 80-percent size replica of The Wall That Heals in Washington.
The dedication ceremony will include speakers, the Raising of the Flags, and the 369th Huey Helicopter Squadron of Peru, Ind., as well as live entertainment on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Hot dogs and cheeseburgers will be sold with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum.

City Soccer club kicks off
The Fort Wayne Football Club, the city’s first men’s pre-professional soccer team, plays their first in-town game on Sunday, May 23, at 3 p.m. against the Toledo Villa FC at Bishop Dwenger High School.

Healing Hands Day Spa presents the Healing Hands Night Market, an outdoor market featuring live musicians and fire spinners, as well as artisans and vendors selling their wares, food trucks, and a fire pit to keep warm.
