Things are busy at Huntington’s popular winery Two EE’s. Having recently celebrated its sixth anniversary, the winery has expansion efforts under way which will continue into the next couple of months.
But in the meantime, its parking lot is already larger, and there are plenty of things coming up to check out as their schedule remains full during their growth.
One of their most popular events, and the inspiration for one of their early renovations, is Uncorked, which brings area performers to their beautiful roofed deck for an evening of music and wine as well as food for purchase from visiting food trucks. Coming to Two EE’s are a wide range of music and food, something sure to delight everyone.
June 7 will feature music by Bobbie Morrone with food available from Fork and Fiddle and Sol Kitchen while on June 8 will feature Carmichael with JB’s Cuisine Machine and Ziffles.
The next few weeks include visits from Heidi Burson Band and Affiné and Bravas (June 14), William Matheny along with Head 2 Hock and Sol Kitchen (June 15), Todd Harrold Duo and Pepper & Spice and Sol Kitchen (June 15), Corey Cox and JB’s Cuisine Machine and Ziffles returning (June 22), Georgia English and Bravas and Affiné (June 28), Joe Martyn Ricke & The Miracle Machine and Head 2 Hock and Sol Kitchen (June 29, and Lindsay Hoops and Big Apple Pizza and Head 2 Hock (July 5).
Two EE’s typically announces its Uncorked schedule a month out, so for dates later in the summer, check our Whatzup calendars for updates.
Also at Two EE’s, Yoga at the Winery has become a very popular stop for many who want a two-prong approach to relaxation.
The Powers of One Yoga & Fitness Studio provide the yoga class while Two EE’s provides the wine. For $25 per person, each attendee enjoys one hour of yoga followed by one glass of wine. The sessions begin at 6 p.m. with the yoga class and continues until 8:15. Upcoming classes are scheduled for June 17, July 22, August 19, Sept. 23, and Oct. 21. To register visit twoees.com.
Creative Outlets for kids
With the summer months and school vacation upon us now, many who spend their time with little ones may find themselves watching a little more television than normal, and that’s OK.
But there are ways to take some of the most popular television characters and turning it into a fun family project.
Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation have some workshops in the coming months that can tap into favorite characters and some creative energy as well.
Sessions are held at the Community Center on Main Street and include something for kids 2-5 and their adult guardian.
On July 5, fans of the popular Nickelodeon show Paw Patrol can make their own Paw Patrol gear and work together to tackle a rescue (as those pups do so regularly). Once successfully accomplished, a treat will be provided. Registration deadline June 28.
Then on August 5, Super Duper Heroes are explored with games and crafts — and of course a treat. Registration deadline July 29.
The fee is $14 per person, and the sessions run from 10-10:45 a.m.
There are also four-day mini-camps (running from 9:30-11:30 a.m each day) for children ages 3-5 including It’s a Small World (June 17-20), Bugs and Butterflies Camp (July 8-11), and Pirates and Mermaids Camp (July 29-August 1).
For more information about those camps or to register for any of the Parks & Rec summer programs, visit fortwayneparks.org.
