Fans of the popular Conjure Coffee, which has earned a tasty reputation thanks to their brews and locally sourced menu items, can rejoice in the knowledge that there will be one more place to pick up a Conjure treat.
While their Columbia Avenue location is still going strong, a new café will soon open at the Botanical Conservatory.
The addition to the Conservatory was approved just last week, and visitors can expect to see Conjure open in its second location by the end of the year.
Of course, there’s no need to wait that long to visit the Botanical Conservatory. The current exhibit, “Botanical Jones: Scientist, Merchant or Thief?” continues through Nov. 17 and merges a passion for science with a classic English mystery theme. The “Christmas Connections” exhibit opens Nov. 18.
October fun at the zoo
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is without question one of our city’s most beloved attractions, and it’s hard to believe that another wonderful and busy season is about to come to a close.
The season ends on Oct. 6, but fans of the zoo know that there are still a couple of pretty great events that month for the zoo’s annual Halloween celebration. Costumes are encouraged though not required, and hours are curtailed with some animals unavailable due to the cooler temps. But there is still plenty of fun to be had. This year’s schedule includes:
Oct. 11 and 18: Free carousel rides all day and Story Time at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 12: Halloween Animal Enrichment and Meet Princesses & Superheroes 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
Oct. 13, 20, and 27: Music by the Atomic Sharks noon-3 p.m.
Oct. 19: Pumpkin Stomp & Chomp and Meet Princesses & Superheroes 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
Oct. 25: free train rides all day and Story Time at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 26: The final Halloween Animal Enrichment.
Tickets are $5 for admission or $9 for admission with treats (all ages- babies 1 and under are free, or $4 to receive treats). Zoo members get $2 off admission.
