While many things are still up in the air for the months ahead, all for One has an exciting lineup set for the 2020-2021 season.

The lineup includes The Dreadful Journal of Phoebe Weems in September, A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas in November, Mary’s Wedding in February, and The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church in April.

But like many other local arts organizations, all for One is branching out this year with some virtual entertainment. Those who may not feel comfortable in a theater can enjoy some of the programming that all for One has been offering for more than 25 years.

With its podcast For Starters, the faith-based theater company will be offering single chapter readings of some well-known as well as lesser-known works.

The readings will allow some local theater talent to share their voices. The result should provide a tantalizing introduction to some literary classics — all for One’s bread and butter — which should in turn inspire many to read the remaining chapters of the book in question.

Among early novels to be shared are Little Women, The Scarlett Pimpernel, Peter Pan, The Enchanted Castle, and The Boxcar Children

The program will launch in August, so check with all for One’s Facebook page and the pages of Whatzup for further details.

Virtual editions of traditions

There are several other favorite events which will have a virtual edition this year, including Taste of the Arts and the popular Dinner Dance.

The good folks at Arts United are already busy creating virtual programming for this year’s Taste of the Arts, with several different venues and arts organizations creating content that can be enjoyed at home in lieu of the annual August gathering at the Arts Campus.

The Dinner Dance has become a staple of Fort Wayne’s fall social calendar, serving as a fundraiser and a friendraiser for Positive Resource Connection. Once a somewhat small and underground event, a now diverse population gathers each October to celebrate and maintain focus on the battle against AIDS which is still more prevalent than people may think.

The Dinner Dance will include a virtual silent auction as well as other enticements to substitute for the annual party downtown.

Plans are still evolving for each, so check back in these pages or visit the Dinner Dance and Taste of the Arts pages on Facebook for more details.
