Whodunnit? It’s a question that has fueled thousands of mysteries over the years.
Center Street Community Theatre tackles that question head-on at the Wagon Wheel Center of the Arts in Warsaw when it presents Clue from Sept. 10-13.
Based on the popular board game and the 1985 movie of the same name, the play begins with a dinner party that comes to a quick and tragic end. The six guests in attendance, each with a shady past and a motive to commit murder, were invited to the remote, mysterious mansion by an anonymous host.
It is soon discovered that all of them have fallen victim to the same blackmailer, their very host of the evening. A seventh guest arrives, playing a big part in the madcap adventures of Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum, and Miss Scarlet as they are each presented with a weapon — such as the familiar rope, revolver, or wrench) and a bunch of rooms to gallop through — including the ballroom, the billiard room, and the conservatory.
What follows is a crazy, slapstick evening of murder, mystery, and laughs as the guests seek to discover the culprit.
