Given the groups description, it’s fair to say that Bach himself probably would have given his blessing as they do their best to present the music of this great composer, as well as other composers of the period, in the way it was most likely meant to be performed and in the way it would have been presented at the time.
The performers number between thirty and fifty vocal musicians and between seven and seventeen professional instrumentalists. They are conducted by Dr. Daniel Reuning, a member of The Global Bach Community and The American Bach Society and a holder of a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Illinois.
On opening night, the group will perform Bach’s Wake, Awake (Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme) (BWV 140) and My Heart Is at Peace (Ich habe genug) (BWV 82a) along with Handel’s Utrecht Te Deum (HWV 278) and Jubilate (HWV 279). The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is located at 1122 S. Clinton in Fort Wayne.
