On Sunday, Oct. 13, there will be a benefit for Steve “Tiny” Michaels at the Mizpah Shrine Center, 1015 Memorial Way, from noon until 8 p.m.

Michaels is a denizen of local radio having hit the waves on a number of stations throughout his career as well as owner of Tiny Tunes Mobile Music and Tiny Bubbles Bubble Parties. Chances are you’ve either heard or seen Tiny sometime in your existence.

Recently, Michaels experienced complications from diabetes resulting in him losing part of his left leg. Shortly after a GoFundMe page was created to help Michaels and his family with ongoing medical expenses, friends organized an event to bring everyone together and help out a friend in need.

Hosted by Elvis & Hammer, the benefit will feature food & drinks, a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and live music by Mike Conley, Whoa, Man!, Cheyenne, AFU, and The Band Brother. There will also be karaoke from DJ Tim Lude of Lude Entertainment, an appearance by comic Heywood Banks, and Bob & Tom Show’s Pat Goodwin.

Michaels has given so much to the community and now it’s time for us to give back. Get well, Tiny!
