With spring weather, it won’t be long before folks start heading to the lakes. If you have lake plans, you might want to stop by The Pier & Back Porch at the Oakwood Resort on Lake Wawasee.

Some of the entertainment they have booked thus far are Dan Lopez on March 13, Todd Harrold Duo on March 20, and Motor Folkers on March 27. These shows are set to get under way at 8 p.m. It’s a great option after a long day in the sun.

Be on the lookout for more additions to their spring and summer entertainment calendar. You know Whatzup will have you covered.

Conley and Doughnuts

Mike Conley and his guitar will be taking advantage of the lake season as well. Every Sunday morning this summer, Conley and his six-string will be entertaining folks in front of the famous Tom’s Donuts in Angola.

Many of you know that Tom’s is a huge part of northeast Indiana lake tradition with those mouth-watering donuts served up at the Four Corners of Lake James. I’m sure Conley is kvelling over the opportunity to perform at this hot spot. Rise early, grab a coffee and a delicious doughnut, and listen to Conley as he takes you through a pleasant journey of covers and originals.

Sandbar Music festival

While on the subject of lake time, the eighth annual Crooked Lake Sandbar Music Festival is scheduled this year for July 23 and 24.

The fun-filled family event features live local and regional artists performing on the Crush House Entertainment stage and benefits local charities like the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County. Be on the lookout for updates, but for now put it on your calendar.

Free Songs at Sweetwater

Sweetwater is providing the opportunity to relax and enjoy captivating music during the lunch hour with their Live at Lunch free concert series.

On Friday, Mar. 12, Milwaukee-born singer/songwriter Brady Lee will perform in the Sweetwater café beginning at noon. Taking inspirations from the likes of Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, and Russell Dickerson, Lee is one of the most exciting artists rising up the ranks in country-pop music.

Then, on Wednesday, Mar. 17, Sweetwater welcomes country/rock artist Hunter Wainscott. Wainscott and his band, The Vagabonds, are a touring machine, connecting with audiences through original music that reflects the everyday life, struggles, and love experienced by everyday people. The band released a four-song EP last year.
