In a year that began with promise, expectations rapidly changed in March because of the still-raging pandemic. Will 2021 signal better days for us? I sure hope we can venture out and enjoy festivals, theaters, sports, and concerts.

The many events being scheduled for the upcoming year give us hope.

Solve a mystery over dinner

One event on the calendar is The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Show being held at the downtown Courtyard by Marriott. This interactive comedy mystery dinner will have you tackling a challenging crime while you feast on a fantastic dinner. But beware! The criminal is lurking somewhere in the room.

The shows are geared toward adults and carry a PG-13 rating. Show dates are Jan. 9 and 23 and Feb. 14 and 20.

Wait for Baker’s new solo album

We will be getting a solo release in 2021 from the talented Adam Baker. This will be Baker’s first solo release in nearly 20 years. That’s a long time, but luckily we were treated with releases along the way by his band Adam Baker and the Heartache

As of now, the upcoming full-length, Junk Driver, will be released on May 14. Can’t wait to hear it!

Listen to Pifer’s New Single

Speaking of Baker, his Heartache Productions recorded, mixed, and mastered guitarist Lexi Pifer’s new single, “Myself Without you.”

The new gem features a slew of guest musicians including Baker (bass), Kylie Fischer (backing vocals), Tommy Saul (keys), Kyle Smith (drums), and Theo Garcia (trumpet). You can find the new track on all major streaming sites.

Hang out with the hippies

The Hippie Living Fair is scheduled to return to Buck Lake Ranch up in Angola on Sept. 10-13. This festival is three days of peace and love with hundreds of amazing artists, artisans, pickers of vintage goods, healthy and yummy foods, camping, and live music.

Tickets can be purchased at HippieLivingFair.com.
