Fans of the local Americana indie act Rosalind & The Way will be excited to hear last year’s stellar release Legend or Myth is now available on vinyl.

To celebrate, the band will have a release party on Friday, Nov. 22, at Neat Neat Neat Records. The all-ages event will begin at 7 p.m. with a $5 cover at the door. If you recall, Legend or Myth was the first release for Marble Lounge Records, a program made possible by the University of Saint Francis. The ten-track effort has gained rave reviews since its initial release, in addition to their amazing shows in support.

Anyhow, come out and show your love and be one of the first to get your hands on the new vinyl which also includes artwork by Devanne Hamman.

Christmas at c2G

Even though we’re barely past Halloween, it’s not too early to start getting into the yuletide spirit. For example, circle Saturday, Dec. 14, on your calendar because that evening will be everyone’s favorite Christmas tradition, the C2G Christmas show held at C2G Music Hall.

Folks come out to enjoy Christmas numbers performed by a handful of local artists. Taking the stage this year will be Kyle Haller Band, Alyssa Enright, The Beef Manhattans with Mike Conley, Sunny Taylor Band, and Smooth Edge 2.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $15 for Gold Circle and available online at C2GMusicHall.com as well as all Wooden Nickel locations and Neat Neat Neat Records. In addition, make sure to bring a non-perishable food item with you as all proceeds benefit Community Harvest Food Bank.

Celebrate with Whoa, Man!

Whoa, Man! will be lending their talents to the upcoming Celebrate the Harvest event at the Philmore on Broadway at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.

Not only will Whoa, Man! be treating us to music by the likes of Joan Jett, Heart, Pat Benatar, and Aretha Franklin, but there’s also an option to enjoy a three-course meal prepared by Chef Mike Newsome. The Supper Club ticket includes early admission with dinner, VIP seating, and a solo performance by Jess Flame Thrower.

If you want to just see Whoa, Man!, general admission entry is also available. Both ticketing options are available through Eventbrite.

A portion of your ticket purchase will benefit the efforts of Destiny Rescue, whose mission is to end child trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Day before Thanksgiving is Stuffed

Soon we’ll be embraced with one of the biggest party days of the year, the day before Thanksgiving on Nov. 27. Most folks have the next day off work, kids are back from college, and visiting family members call for an evening out on the town.

If you’re planning ahead, this year’s Thanksgiving Eve will feature a number of worthy acts scattered throughout town including Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra at Wrigley Field Bar and Grill, Grateful Groove at Latch String, Hubie Ashcraft Band at Mitchell’s Sports Bar, Alicia Pyle Quartet & Friends at Club Room at The Clyde, Joe Justice at Country Heritage Winery, and Love Hustler, The Be Colony, and Blue Wave at The Ruin. Stay tuned to Whatzup for future additions.

Also happening that evening is Holiday Fest featuring the Night of Lights, so downtown will definitely be hopping. Have fun and be safe!
