June 27, 2019
You will not have any issues finding the Alicia Pyle Quartet this summer thanks to the recently announced Summer Jazz Sessions at The Club Room at The Clyde.
Every Wednesday from 8 to 10 p.m., Alicia Pyle Quartet & Friends will perform in the intimate setting of The Club Room, accompanied by signature drinks and a unique dining menu.
“We are thrilled to be entertaining the community in such a fabulous venue,” Pyle said. “I love being able to showcase my friends and share their talents in a way that helps make Fort Wayne such a great place to live, work, and play. By inviting a special guest to be with us each week, every performance will be unique, fresh, and fun.”
The Summer Jazz Sessions are free and begin June 26 and continue every Wednesday through August 28. If you have yet to make it to The Club Room, I couldn’t think of a more fitting time to do so.
The Coliseum welcomes Luke Bryan
I’m sure country fans were beside themselves when word broke that two-time Country Music Association Entertainer of the year Luke Bryan is coming to town this fall. I have to admit, I truly enjoyed the social media videos Nathan Dennison and Randy Brown of the Memorial Coliseum put together days prior to the announcement. They were comical and helped build the suspense for the announcement.
In any event, Bryan’s “Sunset Repeat Tour” will stroll through town on Wednesday, Oct. 23, to perform at a jam-packed Memorial Coliseum. Joining Bryan will be multi-platinum singer/songwriter Cole Swindell and Jon Langston. Tickets for the show go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Ticketmaster.com
The Clyde says yes to Jon Anderson
Another high-caliber announcement was made the very same day when The Clyde released that Jon Anderson, The Voice of Yes is coming to town on Saturday, Aug. 10, on the “1,000 Hands Tour.”
Anderson is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable voices in progressive rock as the lead vocalist and creative force behind the band Yes. You know the songs and have heard them many times in your lifetime, like “I’ve Seen All Good People,” “Roundabout,” and “Owner of a Lonely Heart.”
Anderson will perform Yes numbers as well as solo material including tunes from his recent album 1,000 Hands. Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Clydetheater.com, over the phone at (800) 514-3849, or in person at The Clyde box office, all three Wooden Nickel locations, Neat Neat Neat Records, and Sweetwater.
TRF Art Show enters third year
The third annual Three Rivers Festival Heart of the City, a two-day local art show, will take place the opening weekend of the festival, July 13 and 14. Located in the Freimann Square parking lot, this is the biggest public art event in the Fort with 30,000 guests making their way to TRF each year.
Something new to the event is live local music by some of the areas elite artists. Neat Neat Neat Records has teamed up with this year’s event and has compiled a stellar lineup that will kick-off at 11 a.m. on Saturday with Trinell Armour & Mad Scatter. Following them throughout the day will be Joel David Weir, KelsiCote, Dan Smyth, Kevin Hambrick, Shelly Dixon, Kari Diehl Music, and Samuel Harness. On Sunday, music will also get under way again at 11 a.m. with Alyssa Enright, Real Rhapsody Band, Randy Spencer, Jess Flame Thrower, David Todoran, and Fresh Tar.
