The Friday Nites Live summer concert series returns to Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center this summer. Grab a blanket or a lawn chair and make your way to the fountain area for live music every Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The series will run through Sept. 3 and includes performances by Junk Yard Band on July 2, The Bulldogs on July 9, Hot Rod Kings on July 16, The New Millennium Jazz Orchestra on July 23, Steel Candy on July 30, ReGeneration X on Aug. 6, Sugar Shot on Aug. 13, Todd Harrold Band on Aug. 20, Good Night Gracie on Aug. 27, and Ty Causey on Sept. 3. These are free and open to the public.

Piere’s Piles on

Piere’s concert calendar continues to grow. Some of the recent additions include Filter on July 8, Soul Asylum on Sept. 5, Yung Gravy on Oct. 26, and Sarah Longfield on Nov. 9. The majority of the shows will be held in the main room, while others will be outdoors or in Stan’s Room, a smaller intimate room inside the venue.

If you are planning to attend any of the shows, you can now purchase tickets at all Wooden Nickel locations as well as Neat Neat Neat Records. You can also purchase tickets online at pieresentertainment.com.

Don’t Stop Believing

Last March, the Clyde Theatre was set to host Resurrection: A Journey Tribute. Due to the pandemic, the show was rescheduled for May and, like every other show at that time, it never happened.

Now, as things are pretty much opened up again, the show is back on the Clyde calendar for Friday, July 16, at 7 p.m.

I have never met anyone who didn’t like Journey, and, from what I have heard, these cats are the gold standard of Journey tributes. As an added bonus, our very own The Y’s Guys will open the show.

If you have a few extra bucks to throw at a babysitter, there will be a special after party held next door at the Club Room from 11 p.m-1 a.m. where The Y’s Guys will perform once again.

Bachman will be Back, Man

The Bachman Cummings concert at the Foellinger Theatre has been rescheduled. The legendary Canadian musicians and songwriters Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings will now bring their reunion tour to town on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 8 p.m. The original Aug. 12 date was postponed due to the extended closing of the Canadian border.

Previously purchased tickets will be accepted for this date, but refunds will be available for those who cannot attend. If tickets were purchased at Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, customers can call the administrative office at (260) 427-6000. Ticketmaster will refund all tickets purchased online.

If you haven’t purchased tickets, then you still have a chance. This will be a night of hits co-written and made famous with The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive. As a matter of fact, now through July 4 bleacher seats can be purchased as buy one, get one free in person at the parks office or at ticketmaster.com using the code “BACHMANBOGO.”
