When the Rusty Spur closed its doors in 2019, it left many country folks without a place to get their boot scootin’ on. Well, it looks as if that problem has been solved with the recent announcement of the opening for Fort Wayne’s newest country bar, Knockin’ Boots Saloon.

The establishment at 6115 W. Jefferson Blvd. and will feature mechanical bull riding, axe throwing, dart tournaments, live music, food, and drinks.

Grand opening weekend is slated for Jan. 27-29 and will include live music by the Hubie Ashcraft Trio on Thursday, Jai Baker on Friday, and Mason Dixon Line Band on Saturday.

So, dust off those snake-skinned boots and rock the 10-gallon cowboy hat as we have a new country bar in town. Welcome aboard, Knockin’ Boots Saloon!

Mammoth WVH, Dirty Honey reschedule

If you had plans to attend the “Young Guns” tour featuring Mammoth WVH and Dirty Honey at Piere’s, then you may have seen it has been rescheduled.

Originally slated for Jan. 20, the outing will now commence Monday, March 21, at 8 p.m.

A joint statement from the band reads, “We take the health and safety of the bands, road crews, local venue staff and especially our fans very seriously. Due to an abundance of caution regarding the recent COVID surge, we have decided to postpone the start of the Young Guns Tour.”

I know it’s a school night, but hopefully the new date works for you as this show will represent two bands who are looking to prove that rock n’ roll is definitely very much alive and well.
