Guns N’ Roses are inviting you into the jungle when they head out on the world tour this year, beginning their U.S. run in August.

The iconic metal band that ushered out the hair-metal craze have announced an extensive tour making stops at festivals, stadiums, and arenas internationally beginning in June. While all of that sounds amazing, the bad news is that you will have only one chance to see Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, and others, unless you travel outside of our region.

Wrigley Field in Chicago is the place you will want to be Aug. 24, but tickets will go fast when they are available at 10 a.m. on Friday, March  3.

This tour marks Guns N’ Roses’ first in North America since they also toured stadiums in 2021.

While there likely won’t be any new music to coincide with the tour, the band did release the four-disc, super-deluxe edition of Use Your Illusion last year.

Modest Mouse joins Weezer

Weezer announced a summer tour this week that includes Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Spoon, Momma, Joyce Manor, and White Reaper.

The tour begins June 4 in Alabama and makes its way to our region on June 16 when Weezer, Modest Mouse, and Momma play at Blossom Music Center outside of Cleveland and June 18 at Pine Knob Music Theatre outside of Detroit.

Modest Mouse will play a solo show on June 17 at GLC Live at 20 Monroe in Grand Rapids.

Depeche Mode extends tour

Depeche Mode have added a new fall leg of North American tour dates to their Memento Mori World Tour, keeping them on the road until the end of the year.

The band’s upcoming album, Memento Mori, is their first release in six years and is due out March  24.

Now a duo of Dave Gahan and Martin Gore following the death of keyboardist Andy “Fletch” Fletcher, Depeche Mode had already scheduled a date at the United Center in Chicago for April 5. They will return to our region in November, visiting Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Nov. 8, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Nov. 10, and Chicago’s United Center again on Nov. 13.

Check out Joe Perry Project

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy winner Joe Perry has announced a handful of tour dates for The Joe Perry Project

The tour, which is currently just two weeks long, will stop at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, Illinois, just west of Chicago on April 21.

The 72-year-old is a founding member of Aerosmith and Hollywood Vampires, giving him a large catalog of songs from which to choose, so there are likely to be surprises around every corner.

He will be joined on the tour by singer Gary Cherone, keyboardist Buck Johnson, Jason Sutter on drums, and bassist David Hull.

Ghost reappear in region

Swedish metal band Ghost have announced their first tour of 2023.

Dubbed the Re-Imperatour, the 27-date tour will feature Amon Amarth as the opener.

As per usual, Ghost frontman Tobia Forge is promising another stage in the evolution of the band, telling Metal Hammer, “We’re going to come out with a little bit of good change. We’re not going to go silent. Some things are public, other things not in public view, but there are a lot of things brewing.”

You can check out what he was alluding to when the band stops by Pine Knob Music Theatre outside Detroit on Aug. 14, Huntington Bank Pavilion outside of Chicago on Aug. 15, and Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on Aug. 16.
