Blue Oyster Cult are celebrating their 52nd year together and are on the road presenting their classic hits and more to audiences across America. The band stops by Trine University in Angola on July 12 as part of the university’s Summer Concert Series.
For more than four decades, Blue Öyster Cult have thrilled fans of intelligent hard rock with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. So deep is their legacy that they are often cited as a major influence by other like-minded acts such as Metallica, Dream Theater, and Queensryche.
With 14 studio albums from which to choose, BOC obviously have plenty of material to please even the most discerning of fans. You’ll hear the obvious hits like “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper,” “Burnin’ for You,” and “Godzilla,” but you also might get a few surprises as well.
Comprised of dual front men singer-guitarists Eric Bloom, 73, and Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, 70, these guys have somehow managed to elude “Father Time,” still sounding as good as or better than many musicians half their age.
Backed by longtime guitarist Richie Castellano, bassist Danny Miranda, and drummer Jules Radino, BOC deliver the songs the way you want to hear them and show why they have remained a staple in the classic rock genre.
