Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is within reach. However, it is not too early to get Christmas on the brain. After all, some stores have had decorations on the shelves for weeks.

A couple of events you are going to want to put on your calendar are the annual Christmas show at Baker Street Centre on Dec. 10, followed by Smooth Edge 2’s Yuletide Jingle Ball on Dec. 16.

The Christmas show was a staple for many years when the venue was C2G Music Hall and continues to forge on under the current moniker. Slated to perform all the holiday classics will be The Beef Manhattans with Mike Conley, as well as Adam Baker & The Heartache, The Indigo Society, and Smooth Edge 2. Conley will also be your host for the evening.

General admission ticets are $10, with Gold Circle tickets going to $20. Proceeds from the holiday event will go to the Community Harvest Food Bank.

At the Yuletide Jingle Ball on Dec. 16, The Ragtag Bunch will open for Smooth Edge 2. Advance tickets for the Ball are $10, but if you want to buy them at the door, they will be $15.

She is also known to support many social and political movements by performing benefit concerts, appearing on benefit albums, and speaking at rallies. More recent, the Grammy winner has written her first children’s book, The Knowing, due out in March.

Joining DiFranco that evening will be Peter Mulvey & SistaStrings

Clyde books funnyman Kevin Nealon

Don’t look now, but we got some comedy heading to The Clyde Theatre.

An evening of laughs awaits you on Thursday, April 6, at 8 p.m. when comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Kevin Nealon grabs the mic.

If the name doesn’t ring a bell, do a Google search, and I am sure you have seen this cat before, most likely as the Weekend Update anchor on SNL or as Franz, one-half of Hans & Franz, who wanted to “pump you up.”

His unique sense of humor, dry wit, and likable demeanor sets himself apart from other comedic performers and will make for one unforgettable evening.

Reserved seating tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. at clydetheatre.com, by calling (800) 514-3849, or by going to the The Clyde box office, any Wooden Nickel Records location, Neat Neat Neat Records, or Sweetwater Sound.

Poco founder Jim Messina to play at Clyde

The Clyde also booked a top-notch performer for Sunday, March 26, when Jim Messina comes to town.

Messina’s legacy of musical genius spans five decades, three supergroups, a vibrant solo career, and scores of producing and engineering credits.

He was a member of the folk rock group Buffalo Springfield, founding member of the country rock band Poco, and half of the soft rock duo Loggins & Messina with Kenny Loggins. Reserved seats are on sale now.
